Rathdowney Resources Limited is a Canadian exploration company whose primary focus is exploration for base metal deposits in Ireland. Rathdowney has targeted areas which have a history of base metal exploration and discovery. The availability of a large databank from previous work has enabled the company to accelerate and refine its exploration activities. A number of the target areas contain known base metal mineralization identified from ealier exploration campaigns.

Rathdowney has been granted prospecting permits covering 490 square miles in the Irish Ore Field, covering five project areas, namely Mallow, Westmeath North, Westmeath South, Courtbrown and Galway. Applications for another four project areas, covering a total of 700 square miles, is currently in process. Detailed geochemical sampling programs are currently underway on the company's project areas in oder to delineate drilling targets.

In addition to the large exploration team involved in the sampling programs, other professionals are involved in the re-interpretation and digitization of the large databank from previous exploration activities.
