Equinox is an international exploration and mine development company with principal development and exploration activities for base metals and uranium in Zambia. The company's shares are listed in Canada on the Toronto Stock Exchange and on the Australian Stock Exchange under the symbol "EON".

The primary focus for the Company is its new Lumwana Copper Mine situated 140 miles northwest of the world renowned copperbelt. Equinox owns 100% of Lumwana - a mine of recognized international scale for which the Company is fully funded.With proven and probable reserves totaling 321 million tonnes of ore grading at 0.73% copper, Lumwana represents the single largest new copper mine coming into production in the next two years and the largest new mine seen in Zambia in 40 years.

Lumwana construction is now complete and remediation works following the transformer fire incident well advanced. Final mine commissioning is expected imminently and first concentrate production anticipated during December 2008.Once fully operational, Lumwana will produce an average of 172,000 tonnes
per year (380 million lbs/year) of copper metal contained in concentrates for the first 6 years of its37 year mine life. Full production is expected in 2009 at which time Lumwana will be Africa's largest copper mine. Equinox has completed a uranium feasibility study ealier in 2008 and this has confirmed the viability of the proposed onsite treatment and production of U308. On the basis that all appropriate approvals are granted, commissioning of a uranium processing plant is targeted for 2011.

Lumwana holds significant potential for organic expansion and will likely provide Equinox with a cornerstone for the creation of a new Mining House.
